Privacy policy
Effective September 30, 2026
The short version: AprèsSchool stores what you put into it so it can run your family’s calendar. We don’t sell it, we don’t show ads, we don’t track your location, and you can delete it.
Who we are
AprèsSchool (“we”) is a family scheduling app for parents and caregivers, available at apresschool.app. It is currently in a small private test. You can reach us at support@apresschool.app.
What we collect
Your account
- Your name and email address.
- Your password, if you create one. It’s stored only in scrambled (hashed) form by our sign-in provider, and nobody at AprèsSchool can see it.
- If you use Continue with Google: your name, email address and profile picture link from your Google account. We don’t request access to your Gmail, contacts, Drive or anything else in your Google account.
- If you use Continue with Apple: your name (Apple shares it only the first time) and your email address, or, if you choose Hide My Email, a private address from Apple that forwards to you. We don’t receive anything else from your Apple Account.
What you add to AprèsSchool
- Your profile: phone numbers, alternate email, home address and country.
- Parents and caregivers: names, roles, contact details, any food allergies you choose to add, whether they can drop off or pick up, and which days they cook.
- Children: name, birth date, interests and skill levels, clothing and shoe sizes, height and weight, any food allergies and medical notes you choose to add, and your photo-sharing preference.
- Schedules and meals: class enrollments, who is driving, meal plans, recipes, pantry items, your grocery list (including who added each item), and saved takeout orders (the eatery, its address, items and prices).
- Calendars you connect: calendar links you paste in, and the events we read from them to show on your calendar.
- Google Calendar, if you connect it: your Google account’s email address, and a key from Google that lets AprèsSchool add events for you. That key is kept on our server and never sent to your browser. We also keep a list of the calendars and events AprèsSchool made, so later changes update them instead of adding duplicates.
- Calendars you choose from Google Calendar, if you import some: the list of your calendars’ names while you pick, and then, for the calendars you picked only, their events’ titles, times and places, from the past month to three months ahead. They show on your family’s AprèsSchool calendar and are refreshed about every hour.
- Calendars you choose from your iPhone, if you import some (iPhone app only): the calendars’ names while you pick, and then, for the calendars you picked only, their events’ titles, times and places, from the past couple of days to three months ahead. The app sends them when you use AprèsSchool, and they show on your family’s AprèsSchool calendar. Nothing is written back to your iPhone’s calendars.
- Photos and links you ask us to read: when you import a recipe from a photo or a web link, or scan a receipt, our server reads it once to fill in the details for you. Photos, and pages without standard recipe data, are sent to Anthropic, which reads them and returns the text. We keep only the recipe or order details you choose to save, never your photo or the page. The one exception: when a recipe’s web page has a photo of the dish, we save a small square copy of it with the recipe, to show in your cookbook. Photos you add to a recipe or an order yourself are saved the same way. Anyone with such a photo’s web address can open it, so don’t use pictures of people or anything private.
- Leave-now notifications: your family’s upcoming drop-offs, pick-ups, order pickups and cooking times, with their addresses, are kept on our server so it can tell you when to leave. In the iPhone app, if you allow location “Always”, your phone’s last location is kept too (only the latest, not a history) and used only to work out drive times; the places are sent to Apple Maps or Google Maps for traffic. You can turn location off in the iPhone’s Settings at any time.
- Widgets, Siri and Shortcuts (iPhone app only), if you use them: the app keeps a short summary of the next few days (events, who drives, the next dinner) on your iPhone so its widgets and Lock Screen can show it; signing out clears it. When you ask Siri or a Shortcut something about AprèsSchool, Apple turns your voice into text, and the app sends us only the question (like “what’s for dinner” or the item to add to your grocery list). The answer comes from your family’s AprèsSchool data, with the same access you have in the app.
- Pantry photos (Premium), when you use them: the photos, with the names of what’s already in your pantry, go to Anthropic to list the food on your shelves. The photos aren’t kept by us; only the items you choose to add are saved.
- Calendar photos (Premium), when you use them: the photo, with your family members’ first names and your children’s ages, goes to Anthropic to read the events and guess whose each is. The photo isn’t kept by us; only the events you choose to add are saved.
- Plan the Week (Premium), when you use it: your cookbook’s recipe names and how often and on which days you’ve made them, the places you order from and when, and the week’s evenings (who’s cooking, what else is on, and the food allergies of the people eating at home that evening, by first name) go to Anthropic, which suggests dinners and may search the web for a recipe page. Your town goes to Google for the weather forecast, and the places you order from to Google for their opening hours. Nothing is kept by them for us. We keep a count of how many plans you’ve made this month, and how you reacted to suggestions (swapped, added, kept: the dish, its cuisine and main ingredient) for two months, so later plans fit your taste.
- Receipts you email us: a receipt sent to receipts@apresschool.app from your account’s email address is read the same way and added to your family’s orders. We keep the order details, not the email. If an email you send there isn’t a receipt (an invitation, a booking, a school or team email), and your family has Premium, it’s read for upcoming events instead. They wait on your Home screen until someone who can add events adds, changes or dismisses them. We keep those event details and the email’s subject line, not the email.
- Order emails your Gmail forwards to us, if you set that up: a Gmail filter you create forwards order and receipt emails to receipts@apresschool.app. Emails that don’t look like food orders are dropped without being read. Food order emails are read and added to your orders like receipts you send yourself. We keep the order details, not the emails, plus the confirmation code Gmail sends when you add our address and when your Gmail last forwarded something, so the app can show that it’s working.
What we don’t collect
- Your device’s location.
- Analytics, advertising or tracking data. There are no ad trackers or advertising cookies. Your browser stores your sign-in and a few display preferences (like how tall your calendar is), and that stays on your device.
How we use it
Only to run AprèsSchool for you: showing your calendar and schedules, and sending account emails like sign-up confirmations and password resets. We don’t sell your information, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.

Your family: children, caregivers, schedules, meals and receipts belong to your family on AprèsSchool. People you invite see them according to the access a family admin gives them, for example only the schedule, or only their own drop-offs and pick-ups. A teen with their own login (see Children below) sees everything in the family, including food allergies and medical notes. Your login, profile, settings, card and Google connection stay yours alone.
We don’t share your information with anyone else, unless the law requires us to.
Children
AprèsSchool is for parents and caregivers. Children under 13 don’t have accounts, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. Information about a child is added by their parent or guardian, who can change or delete it at any time.
Teens with their own login. A child who is 13 or older can have their own login, but only if a parent or guardian who is a family admin invites them (we check the birthday the parent entered). The teen signs in with their own email address or Google account, and we collect the same things as for any account: their name and email address. A parent decides what a teen can do: by default they can see the family’s schedule, meals and people, choose to drive or cook, and add to the grocery list, and each item they add shows a dot in their color so a parent can see who added it. A parent can see everything a teen adds, can change what they can do or remove them at any time, and can delete anything about them. When a teen turns 18, a parent can keep them in the family as an adult, or they can leave and take their login with them; their own account then belongs to them alone. To ask us to delete a teen’s account, email support@apresschool.app.
Information from Google
If you connect Google Calendar, AprèsSchool asks Google only for permission to create its own calendar (called “AprèsSchool”) and manage the events on it. It fills that calendar with your children’s classes, drop-offs, pick-ups and meals from AprèsSchool, and nothing else.
AprèsSchool reads your other calendars only if you choose to import some (Account → Connections → Imported calendars → Choose calendars). Google then asks you to allow AprèsSchool to see your list of calendars and their events. AprèsSchool uses that only to show you the list to pick from and to show the events of the calendars you picked on your family’s AprèsSchool calendar, where people in your family can see them according to their access. It never changes or deletes your calendars or events, and doesn’t read calendars you didn’t pick.
In the iPhone app, AprèsSchool asks to see your phone’s calendars only if you choose to import some (Account → Connections → Imported calendars → From your iPhone’s calendars). It uses that to show you the list to pick from and to show the events of the calendars you picked on your family’s AprèsSchool calendar, where people in your family can see them according to their access. It never changes or deletes your calendars or events, and doesn’t read calendars you didn’t pick. You can turn the permission off any time in the iPhone’s Settings, and remove an imported calendar in AprèsSchool.
Disconnecting in Account → Connections deletes AprèsSchool’s calendars from your Google account, stops showing the calendars you imported from Google, and deletes our copy of Google’s key. You can also remove AprèsSchool’s access at any time in your Google Account settings.
AprèsSchool’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Security
Security procedures are in place to protect the confidentiality of your data, including data we receive from Google:
- Encryption: we use encryption to protect your information. Every connection to AprèsSchool is encrypted (HTTPS), and our database and file storage are encrypted where they’re stored.
- Access rules: each family’s information is walled off by rules in the database itself, so one account can’t read another’s, and people in your family see only what a family admin allows.
- Google access: the key that lets AprèsSchool reach your Google Calendar is kept only on our servers. It is never sent to your browser or phone. When you disconnect Google or delete your account, we cancel that access with Google and delete the key. Events read from your Google calendars are used only for AprèsSchool’s own features: showing your family’s schedule and planning around it (for example, Plan the Week skips busy evenings). They are never sold, used for ads, or used to train AI models.
No system is perfectly secure, so please only add medical or other sensitive details you’re comfortable storing.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information while your account exists. You can edit or remove most of it, like children, caregivers, meals and connected calendars, in the app at any time. To delete your whole account and everything in it, email support@apresschool.app from your account’s email address, and we’ll delete it within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you’ve already given us, we’ll email you first.
